How to measure correctly?
Use our recommendations for measuring curtains to ensure that the product looks as aesthetically pleasing as possible. We recommend measuring with a metal tape measure. A soft tape measure will not give accurate results as it stretches and loosens.
Width
1. Measure the length of the curtain from one edge to the other.
Recommendation: choose a curtain length that is approximately 30 cm from both edges of the window opening. In this case, the curtains will gather between the walls when the window is opened and will not cover the window, allowing maximum daylight into the room.
2. The width of the curtain set is determined by multiplying the width (A) by the assembly coefficient.
The assembly coefficient of a curtain set is a parameter that determines the volume and fullness of the curtains. For the curtains to look impressive on the window, it must be multiplied by the width of the curtain.
Recommended assembly coefficient:
– for tulle and other light fabrics
– width (A) multiplied by 2–4;– for dense fabrics – width (A) multiplied by 1.5–2.5.
Length
1. The length of the curtain set is measured from the bottom edge of the curtain cord (Figure 1) or rings (Figure 2) to the level where the product should end.
– To the floor. The bottom edge of the curtain set is 1–5 cm above the floor (B – 1–5 cm). The curtains wear less. – To the floor. If you want part of the curtain set to reach the floor, add 10–20 cm to the product length (B + 10–20 cm).
– To the window sill. The bottom edge of the curtain set is 1 cm above the window sill (C – 1 cm). The curtains move freely on the curtain rod. An excellent choice for the kitchen.
– Below the window sill. The bottom edge of the curtain set hangs 10–15 cm below the window sill (C + 10–15 cm). The curtains look aesthetically pleasing.
